​Although we at Lovely Bunny's stay extremely interactive the initial days you take your bunny home, it is certainly beneficial to have a breakdown of the best ways to continue personality development, litter training and bonding. During the initial days of introduction we want to focus on eliminating set backs and enforce the most seamless transition as possible. Fortunately, the steps are extremely simple to follow, the one catch is you need to be aware of effectively implementing them in the proper manner. The eight steps are listed in order to follow along and use as a reference if necessary. We have already laid the foundation for human interaction, along with personality development prior to your bunny going home. Simply continuing the steps will result in a happy, healthy, bunny full of personality. The steps are as follows:
1. Initially coordinating the proper set up is a crucial part of getting your bunny off to the best start possible. The significance of this highlights three major factors. First, is transitioning your bunny into an environment they are currently comfortable with. Next, is ensuring your bunny is in a safe, secure set up, where they can live out the next month and a half hazard free prior to extending an Ex-Pen. Lastly, a proper set up results in the swiftest amount of time for your bunny to adjust and be able to start spending time with their new family.'
2. We Recommend bringing a clean, topless card board box, or soft cat carrier with access to pet your bunny on the way home, of course whoever is not driving. This has two benefits, one the scent transition of you to your bunny, along with your bunny finding comfort in your presence. Talking gently to your bunny is also a great way to formulate voice recognition.
3. Following the Cage Package being set up, send a picture for approval. Once confirmed, allow your bunny an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half of adjusting. Make sure they have grazed, gone to the bathroom, drank water, and had some pellets. With comfort, your bunny's curiosity will peak and begin to explore it's new surroundings. This is the sign we are looking for! Once they start to show some exploration interest, you can now begin human interaction.
4. Day one of taking your bunny home leaves you with multiple aftercare resources in which we are available by phone call or text consistently. Use this to your advantage both prior to and following your new bunny going home. No question is ever one that should not be asked. If you have fifty questions in one day, do not be shy to call or text. That is exactly what we want, to help you every single step of the way. This communication and relationship, factors in directly to raising a happy, healthy bunny with tons of personality.
5. Make sure you stay vigilant of chewable materials and that your bunny is not chewing anything ingestible. This is a very, very important step. We do not want any issue of a stomach blockage that can lead to a hasty trip to the Veterinarian. So instead, take the proactive approach to make sure it is not even a possibility for that to occur.
6. In the beginning you are naturally going to want to spend every second with your bunny. It is important to keep in mind it is a baby and does need to complete litter training, so limit playtime to two hours and the let the baby get some rest, water, hay and pellets. Also, when your bunny is brought out of their set up, make sure the litter box follows so your bunny has constant access to it to avoid accidents.
7.
