I struggle with anxiety, and I do have some bouts of depression. What I do to counter this without medication, is by putting all my time into Lovely Bunny's. I work all day and love it! I use our bunnies and Pomsky Pups to fill that void that otherwise would be left unattended.
Where it gets fascinating is when you delve into the realm of Mental Handicaps like Autism for example. A name you may not know, but should, is a woman by the name of Temple Grandin. Struggling with Autism her whole life, she found herself most soothed in environments that solely involved animals. In her case, her Autism actually propelled her to accomplish amazing achievements in humane cattle farming and over the years she has submitted countless articles that are pure brilliant. She built a successful career, and an independent life through animals that some people who do not suffer from any disability cannot even accomplish! To myself, I find that absolutely inspirational! I used to coach gymnastics when I was 17 and 18 years old and I was fortunate enough that roughly 40% of my classes involved working with children of all ages with many different forms of disabilities. Looking back, what I can say from personal experience is that bringing home a bunny with our help with pre and after care will help build 3 major building blocks to a successful life. The three being, structure, responsibility and most importantly emotional development. It will of course be a family pet with monitoring from adults and there will be a learning curve especially when the bunny is young. The good news is that we will be hear to help you every step of the way both prior and following you taking your bunny home!
