PART 1.
First and foremost we have to give a special acknowledgement to Holland Lops as a breed. They were created to be domesticated pet bunnies spanning decades back, and that has truly translated into them being easy to train and are not in anyway volatile temperament wise especially when raised properly at such a young age. So we will start with topic one, and that is how do we get our bunnies to be so healthy and proportioned. This starts directly with the parents. Them having the proper exercise, human interaction time, and healthy greens and treats from the bonding bag kits, results in healthy babies. Once you have these healthy babies, it is now our job to make sure we carefully inspect the mother is feeding them, and none are rejected. If one is, we take it upon us to nurse the bunny ourselves. Properly holding them and examining them frequently makes sure they are on track to be a happy healthy bunny. If a bunny goes neglected, and we are not pin point on top of it, that is when you get a malnourished bunny, and we avoid that all together. Next, is stage two human interaction. While the mother is still nursing the babies we are getting these kits human scent friendly, and since we have such loving relationships with the mothers they will not reject the bunny based upon our scent. So all these pieces are flowing simultaneously in harmony working toward one main goal, a happy, healthy, human friendly 8 week old ready to go bunny. Now here is a more controversial topic, but one we have stuck to and it has worked to perfection. We let the kits, pending no hazard signs stay with their mother until 6 weeks and 5 days. Just because you may not always catch it in action, the majority of the time the mother is still nursing them. Some people will say weening at 4 and a half weeks is sufficient. That is not our opinion in the slightest. as long as we can continue to develop the kits personalities with their momma accepting, the more milk they receive and the healthier their systems are. By week 4 they are eating pellets and hay already as well, so there is really no need for separation. Now they already have been learning litter training, when that 6 week and 4 to 5 day mark comes, they now are taken and put in a cage package set up with one of their siblings. This is when we really enforce the litter training, and take the personality development to another level or priority. For that next week and half our main focus is making them comfortable being loved, held, and pet. They are already at that point anyway, and so we start to really tailor their litter training. Giving them ample amount of Timothy Hay Alfalfa Hay and Pellets, for bone structure development. PART 2. 8 weeks and ready to go to their new family. Following leaving your deposit and taking your bunny home, with a Cage Package, Bonding Bag Kit (Which is strongly recommended) or simply just taking your bunny, our job transfers to the customer's job along with ours. We stay interactive in helping form bond development. We answer all questions, through text, call, or even conference call. We look for updates everyday on any questions, tips, or pointers we can give, then come week one and a half you can give your bunny their first hand fed all natural treat from the Bonding Bag Kit. This is the "deal sealer" we call it. They go from being a baby bunny to a puppy. If by this point with working with us you are not fully bonded with your bunny, the kisses start to roll in and then you know for a fact your bunny literally loves you. It is the best feeling in the world for the customer and the best news in the world for myself! It is also very important to remember to take your bunny to the veterinarian for a basic check up for a clean bill of health as a secondary opinion, and if there is an issue we pay for any medications, or if something tragic happens you receive a full refund or new bunny. This is more so to give the new bunny owner some confidence in knowing that they are not on their own if something happens to their bunny 3 days after purchase as there have been some tragic pet shop stories we have heard about. We know we send our bunnies home healthy so having a veterinarian reinforce that just adds double confidence in deciding to go with Lovely Bunny's, we want our customers trust and happiness.
