1. The earlier the better- Bringing home two babies or siblings who have grown up with each other will essentially ensure they fall into a natural hierarchy. Bonding your bunnies as close together age as possible will make the bonding process that much more efficient.
2. Attention Factor- The more attention you have to give your bunny on a daily basis, the less necessary it would be for your bunny to have a companion due their bond being so strong with their human counterparts. 3. Number of family members who will be enjoying your pet bunny's company- If you have a family of 4 or 5 for example, or even two children who each want to have sole time to give attention or love to their bunny, bringing on a companion would not be a bad idea. 4. Make sure you are up to the task of taking care of two bunnies- While it is not double the work to take care of two bunnies, it is still more work and training prior to them being fully bonded. Make sure you have aftercare resources to help you with the bonding process so it is done as time efficiently as possible. 5. If they are not introduced prior the 12 week mark, that is when it becomes more difficult to bond and extra precautions need to be put in place such as separating them at first and working with us at Lovely Bunny's to go through the bonding steps while carefully monitoring progression. 6. Never match up a male and female that are not neutered if you are looking to bring in a companion at that late of a time schedule. The male's testosterone will be in full force and he will have nothing but mating on his mind and it is not fair to put the female through that. In conclusion, rabbits are much happier with a companion, but it is certainly best to contact us at Lovely Bunny's to get our professional opinion on if it will be a great fit for your current situation.
