Just like wild bunnies, your pet bunny will grow to love being treated to fruits and vegetables. However, there is a specific way to introduce both into your bunny's diet, along with specific age increments. The two age increments are 4 and a half months and 6 months, with specific types applicable to be introduced. If you would like to give your bunny treats prior to the 4 and a half month mark, please visit our Bunny Bonding Bag page. It is important to note that vegetables and fruits should be introduced one at a time. Below I will elaborate on which fruits and vegetables are best at each age to be introduced. Click Read More for more information.
**Spinach at any age is not applicable due to a specific enzyme that is potentially fatal to your bunny

4 and a half months:
At 4 and a half months your bunny can now be introduced to their first vegetable. We strongly recommend Parsley and Kale as an initial introduction, however there are other great vegetables that they can enjoy as well.
The 5 being:
1. Parsley
2. Kale
3. Celery with the leaves
4. Basil
5. Cilantro
Romaine lettuce is applicable as well.
Up to this point no fruits can be introduced until 6 months. This includes Carrots.
6 Months:
At 6 months you can start to introduce the fruit group.
The 5 Being:
1. Sliced or Mini- Carrots
2. Sliced Banana
3. Sliced Apple
4.  Sliced Pear
5. Fresh Papaya from the farmers market if applicable to your location.
**It is very important to note that the fruit group should not become a part of the main diet due to the sugar content.
Pairing this blog with our
Bunny Care Page will ensure your bunny is introduced to Fruits and Veggies properly and safely.
